Graduate Positions
Our Graduate Development Programmes provide a fast-track introduction to consultancy, working with White Space's Consumer Research, B2B Strategy, Competitor Strategy and Data Analysis divisions. You will be based in central Oxford, working with some of the world's biggest companies, analysing their markets and developing insights which help them improve performance.
Your first year with us will be extremely varied, highly demanding but, above all else, fun and rewarding. Client experience is likely to include: Sales & Marketing, Customer Experience, Strategy and Competitive Environment, Proposition Development and New Market Entry.
Position Description
Business Analyst activities and responsibilities will include the following:

Business development
- Desktop research
- Qualitative primary research
- In-depth telephone research
- Quantitative primary research
- Advanced data analysis; SPSS & Excel modelling
- Strategic thinking; identifying issues and forming hypotheses
- Developing bespoke market sizes
- Presentation writing
- Client presentations
- Outbound sales generation
Data Analyst activities and responsibilities will include the following:
- Advanced quantitative analysis and modelling in Microsoft Excel
- Handling and manipulation of large data sets
- Articulating analysis in appropriate formats
- Analysis of survey results
- Use of statistics to inform strategic decisions
- Strategic thinking; identifying issues and forming hypotheses
Secondary data analyst role:
- Advanced quantiative analysis and modelling in IBM SPSS
- Presentation writing
- Survey writing
- Client presentations
- Outbound sales generation

- For the business analyst role, we require a minimum of a 2.1 degree in any subject
- For the data analyst role, we require a minimum of a 2.1 degree in a relevant subject such as maths, statistics, economics, a science or related subject for this area
Successful business analyst candidates will have a track record of high achievement both academically and socially and be ready to take on new challenges. Good communication skills and the ability to build a rapport with people are particularly valued, as is the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. While business experience is not essential, commercial awareness, confidence with numbers and the ability to build tailored market sizes is desirable. A perfect command of the English language and an excellent phone manner is required.
We are also looking for a candidate with an aptitude for analysing complex datasets to fill the role of Data Analyst. Candidates should be confident, friendly, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. Good communication, a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to analysis are particularly valued, as is the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. A perfect command of the English language and an excellent phone manner are also ideal.
To apply, you should have experience of conducting in-depth analysis in Excel. Knowledge of Excel formulae and tools such as pivot tables are important, as is the ability to interrogate data in order to make commercial decisions for clients. The successful applicant will also be meticulously organised and will proactively problem solve. Knowledge of basic statistics such as significance testing and regression analysis would also be beneficial.
